There
are several factors that must happen if
you're looking for "The Kinks" to
reunite for the first time since 1996.
Front man and leader, Ray Davies says
that a concert world tour must include
10%of new material; and brother Dave
Davies must be totally recovered from a
stroke he had in2004. Dave has begun
playing lead guitar again according to
original Kinks drummer Mick Avory.
Brother Ray says he will continue doing
solo "Kinks" shows featuring a little
new material from his superb new solo
album ( Working Man's Cafe). It's nice
to see "Led Zeppelin" and "The Who" back
in the news. Led Zeppelin's current
album "Mothership" is now their 18th
platinum album. And "The Ultimate
Collection" from "The Who" is their 12th
platinum album. Atlantic City casinos
are celebrating their 30th anniversary
with a whole bunch of great shows that
will draw thousands of people. Some of
the artists are young and just getting
started. Others are old and thinking
about retirement. Some of the artists
will be familiar to you. Some will be
brand new. Some of the artists may never
retire. Some should. Case in point: It's
hard to believe that "The Shirelles" are
still together. But not only are they
still together. They will do 5 sold out
shows in Atlantic City.
